What a year in family photos! My busiest season of the year is fall, and it’s usually a blur. I am always so grateful when I have the chance to look back through all the photos from the year. In a family portrait photographer’s world, January is the time of year we do all the back-end things that are neglected during the busy season, so I love going through photos and reliving these moments.
What am I looking for when I update my website? Usually not the hero photo of everyone smiling at the camera perfectly. I have a few of those, but you’ll see the photos displayed on my website are the moments of connection, love, intimacy, and energy.
Aside from amazing lighting and location, so much of the success in our session depends on a kid’s mood, the parents’ ability to let loose, and of course a little luck! It’s always so hard to choose favorites, but my top photos from 2024 are selected because of their candor, connection, spontaneity, expression, and in my opinion, they make you feel something.
